Chalene Johnson on Live With Kelly! & Turbo Explained

livewithkellyAnyone that has been following this blog knows that I am a huge fan of Chalene Johnson. She is my fitness idol and everyday workout go-to. I have been using her program TurboFire® for well over a year, and recently have completed her strength training program, ChaLEAN Extreme®. My current workout routine is a hybrid program of both TurboFire® and ChaLEAN Extreme®, and I am simply obsessed with how its making me feel. I am keeping up with my strength that I’d built up with CX, while burning fat and calories like crazy with the TurboFire routines. I feel strong, healthy, and powerful.

In the meantime, I thought I would share this awesome (short) workout by Chalene Johnson that was featured last year on TV’s LIVE! With Kelly. She shares some of her signature Turbo moves with Kelly Ripa and her husband Mark Consuelos – all to showcase her TurboKick® program.

But wait, before we continue… what is TurboKick®, exactly?

Basically, TurboKick® is the “mother” of Turbo. It is Chalene’s “health club” program that is done at most fitness centers throughout the country. Specifically, it is done at most 24-Hour Fitness Centers nationwide. It is for intense cardio conditioning, for intermediate to advanced levels of coordination.

Next on the “Turbo” list would be TurboJam®, an at-home version of Turbo, that is less intense than both TurboKick® and TurboFire®. It is considered to be an “on-ramp” for beginners, and safe for those who have low levels of coordination. It is definitely beginner-friendly and acceptable for those who are just starting out in fitness of any kind.

Finally, there is TurboFire®, my soulmate workout! TurboFire® is high-intensity cardio training, the most intense of all 3 Turbo programs. It is largely choreographically based, and incorporates HIIT (high intensity interval training) for a powerhouse workout.
